Synopsis and Discussion
*PM2.5 HEATLH WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2008*
Well... the forecasted weather pattern has in fact changed from just a
couple of days ago. The earlier forecast was for high pressure to hold
strong through at least Wednesday. As you can tell by the clouds,
that's not the case. A couple disturbances have been able to undercut
the ridge of high pressure. This will continue through much of the
week. Winds wind increase a bit across the region on Wednesday ahead of
one of these waves. There is a slight chance for rain here in the
Phoenix forecast area on Wednesday and Thursday with afternoon desert
temperatures dropping into the upper 60s on Thursday and Friday. More
importantly, there should be some decent mixing in the forecast area to
help clear some of the accumulating particulates. Thus, we expected
PM2.5 and PM10 concentrations to drop off Wednesday through Friday.
With that said, we will not be extending the PM2.5 Health Watch that is
currently in effect for today. Check back tomorrow for more. Have a
good day! -J.Paul
