Synopsis and Discussion
A surface cold frontal passage occurred around 5:00 a.m. this morning and its parent upper level trough passage will continue thru early afternoon. Although rainfall was not heavy or widespread it will serve to help keep particle pollutant concentrations down for at least a few more days. A ridge aloft will begin to build overhead by Tuesday afternoon followed by a slow warming trend that will last into the weekend. The air mass over the Valley will likely become rather stagnant by Thursday but in the meantime good air quality will be the rule. -Reith
