Health message for Saturday, Feb 2: No health impacts are expected.

Synopsis and Discussion
Well... It's been a great week air quality-wise following the soaker of
a system we had last weekend. Festivities leading up the Big Game on
Sunday in Glendale will have fairly good weather with afternoon
temperatures in the low to mid 60s. On Sunday, all that will change as
a strong disturbance drops southeast into Arizona. Winds will pick up
from the southwest to around 20 mph with increasing clouds throughout
the day. There will be a big decision Sunday afternoon with the stadium
crew: to keep the roof open or to close it before any rain develops. To
be on the safe side, it will likely be the latter. Rain isn't expected
to develop until late Sunday evening here in the Phoenix forecast area,
but when it starts, it is expected to continue through much of Monday
before the system exits late Monday or early Tuesday. We're increasing
Particulate and Carbon Monoxide levels a bit over the next several days
as increased traffic for pre-game activities and post-game parties could
contribute addition pollution. We're also taking into account potential
increased residential fireplace usage. Concentrations aren't
anticipated to be high enough for any Advisories, but just be aware that
if you're sensitive to these pollutants, you might want to take
precautions. Once the rain begins, all pollutants will drop back into
the Good range. Check back on Sunday for expected rainfall totals and
timing. Have a great weekend!
