consider reducing prolonged or heavy exertion. 

Synopsis and Discussion
*A PM-2.5 HEALTH WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR FRIDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2008*
  It's out there, though you can't see it as clearly as days past
because of the cloud cover.  That Valley Brown Cloud, primarily due to
trapped fireplace smoke and vehicle exhaust, remains a semi-permanent
feature of the Phoenix area's backdrop this winter (see
http://phoenixvis.net for current Valley images).  We know it's more
related to fireplaces because PM-2.5 levels continue to rise while PM-10
concentrations continue to hold in or near the "Good" category.  
   If you're looking for help from weather systems and accompanying
winds or rain, it's not going to happen any time soon.  That cut-off
area of low pressure off the coast of California (responsible for
today's upper-level clouds) is now expected to continue to lose strength
over the open waters instead of moving on shore toward the end of next
week.  That means the mostly light winds and stagnant surface conditions
will likely continue right through next week.  Under these conditions,
we are issuing a PM-2.5 Health Watch for Friday with the possibility of
at least and extension if not an HPA for the weekend.  
   Again, just one person educating their neighborhood on
fireplace/outdoor fire pit use during poor air quality days can go a
long way towards improving the air quality for everyone (for information
