Synopsis and Discussion

A dusty morning region-wide as a deep trough of low pressure and
associated cold front has pushed through Arizona. There may still be
some winds on the backside of this trough Wednesday that could help drag
some of this haze out. High pressure will return late Wednesday through
Saturday. This will increase the afternoon temperatures across the
region. Phoenix can expect a high in the low 90s on Friday and
Saturday. High pressure will also increase the mixing heights in the
forecast area. This is important in that higher mixing heights will
allow accumulated pollution to mix out at higher elevations during the
afternoons. For this reason, we expect Particulate levels to decrease
slightly each day through Saturday, remaining in the lower "Moderate"
range. Yet another trough of low pressure is slated to impact the
forecast area late Saturday into Sunday. It doesn't look like there is
any rain with this one, either. So, we could be looking at more winds
and possible blowing dust by Sunday. We'll keep any eye on that one.
Check back tomorrow for more. Have a good day! -J.Paul
