Synopsis and Discussion
The first significant cold weather system of the season is taking shape
to the northwest of Arizona on Friday morning and is poised to deliver a
much cooler and very dry air mass to the local forecast area over the
next 48 hours. Unfortunately, no rainfall and only a few clouds are
expected locally, but increasing winds and the incoming unstable air
mass will result in very favorable dispersion and overall good air
quality for the metro area by Sunday - for the first time since early
October. Gusty winds on Saturday may raise localized areas of blowing
dust, but visibilities should become excellent by Sunday. -Reith
