Synopsis and Discussion
*A PM10 HEALTH WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2007*
Well... part of the trough we were expecting moved through the region
this weekend, but the piece of energy we needed to clear this pollution
out of the Valley dropped south and broke off of the main jet. It is
currently off the coast of northern Baja. This low is expected to
regroup and push northeast through Mexico and southeastern Arizona on
Thursday and Friday. It's not certain how much of an affect this system
will have in mixing the atmosphere and dispersing the grungy air in our
forecast area. So as we wait, high pressure will continue to cap any
vertical movement, creating an extremely stagnant day Wednesday as far
as winds are concerned. We are issuing a PM10 Health Watch for
Wednesday, and hoping that the system near Baja brings just enough
mixing to disperse this air. We'll revisit this situation tomorrow, so
check back then. Have a good day! -J.Paul
