Synopsis and Discussion
High pressure will continue to produce desert afternoon temperatures in the upper 80s and low 90s through Friday under mostly sunny skies and relatively light winds. Particulate levels will do the typical mid-week increase with the usual workweek activities. Eyes will be on Ozone, however, as we could see the first Moderate readings of the year (ozone season in Phoenix officially begins April 1st). The sun angle is getting higher in the sky, winds are fairly light allowing a thorough, uninterrupted baking of the atmosphere, and above normal temperatures provide a good environment for ozone generation. We will discuss ozone and its formation process further in the coming weeks as we prepare for the Summer Forecast season. Until then, check back each day for the latest air quality information. Have a good day!
