Synopsis and Discussion

Little day-to-day variation in local weather conditions is expected thru
Friday. A persistent trough over the Pacific Northwest is keeping the
sub-tropical high suppressed too far south to import much monsoonal
moisture over Arizona. However, even subtle changes in valley afternoon
westerly wind speeds can contribute to modest swings in ozone levels.
Since a drop in afternoon winds is predicted for Thursday and Friday,
forecasted ozone levels have been raised for both days; otherwise, no
significant changes in air quality appear imminent. -Reith
