Synopsis and Discussion
A band of showers is currently moving east across the Colorado River region Sunday morning. This is associated with a weak disturbance moving east through the region. There may be some lingering clouds and shower in the Phoenix forecast area early Monday morning, but this disturbance will race to the east by Monday afternoon. A second area of low pressure will push into Arizona Tuesday afternoon. It, too, will provide a chance of desert rain Tuesday afternoon through early Wednesday, but these chances have been decreasing. Afternoon desert temperatures will drop into the mid 60s Monday and Tuesday, but will warm through the remainder of the week as a temporary ridge of high pressure shifts over the region. Coarse Particulate levels will decrease with any moisture that the forecast area receives. They will likely increase Wednesday through Friday under drier conditions. Fine Particulate, on the other hand, may remain in the mid “Moderate” range as residential fireplaces will mostly likely see some action during the cloudy nights. Check back Monday for the latest weather and air quality information. Have a good day! –J.Paul
