Synopsis and Discussion
For those of you who grew tired of the rain... it's over. For those who didn't want it to end... there will definitely be more opportunities in the coming weeks as the weather pattern is favorable for systems to move through the region. For now, however, drying will take place today through early next week. There will be another disturbance that will race across northern Arizona on Friday, but it will do little more than increase afternoon breezes a bit here in the Valley and maybe throw a few clouds across the sky. We will see a slight warming trend through the weekend with afternoon desert temperatures approaching 70°F by next Monday. Skiing should be good this weekend as both Snowbowl and Sunrise ski areas received 3-4 feet of the white stuff this past storm system! Air quality here in the Valley remains in the "Good" range for now, but we expect Fine Particulates (PM2.5) to increase over the next several days as inversions strengthen, mixing decreases considerably, and fireplaces get going with the cooler nighttime temperatures. Check back tomorrow for more. Have a good day! -J.Paul
