The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality has extended a
particulate matter High Pollution Advisory through Thursday, December 14
in the Phoenix metro area.
All people in the Phoenix area, especially those in sensitive
populations, including the elderly, young children and anyone with
respiratory or other health concerns, are advised to limit exertion and
outdoor activity while the High Pollution Advisory is in effect.
To help reduce particulate levels, ADEQ is urging people to limit
driving, use the bus, carpool, telecommute and reduce dust-generating
activities where possible. The HPA also alerts businesses to implement
their travel-reduction plans.
