EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PLANNING (EMP), MUTUAL AID AGREEMENTS & AZWARN
DRINKING WATER WORKSHOPS


Workshop space will be limited; please register early. 

TRAINING OBJECTIVE
The Drinking Water Section will conduct one and one-half day, twelve
(12) hour workshops on emergency management planning for facility owners
and operators of drinking water and wastewater systems and for public
and industrial and critical infrastructure entities in Arizona
communities. The workshops will provide updates on protocols and
procedures for all Federal, State, Tribal and Local responders to
coordinate emergency response statewide. 

Phoenix Only - A one-day workshop will be held on April 4, 2008, to
roll-out AZWARN (Arizona Water/wastewater Agency Response Network) - a
Statewide mutual-aid agreement for utilities.  Top officials from the
utility industry and State agencies will present on the importance of
mutual-aid agreements in emergency response and explain the features of
the AZWARN Program.

*	HANDLING LOCAL/NATIONAL MEDIA DURING CRISIS
*	NATIONAL RESPONSE FRAMEWORK
*	TABLETOP EXERCISE 

Part of each workshop will include attendee participation in a table-top
exercise simulating a possible incident at a public water facility. 

This training earns the attendee twelve (12) professional development
hours. The Arizona Operator Certification Program requires professional
development hours for certificate renewal. 

There is no cost for this training. Lodging, meals and transportation
are the attendee's responsibility.
