**Notice to Public Water Systems & Other Stakeholders**

Water and Wastewater Sector Pandemic Influenza Webinar

Web Cast Scheduled Thursday July 17, 2008

 

On Thursday, July 17th, ADEQ will host an Homeland Security/EPA Web cast entitled, Water and Wastewater Sector Pandemic Influenza Webinar. This is an opportunity for any water or wastewater system or stakeholder to plan and become prepared for a catastrophic influenza pandemic. (See below for more details.)

The interactive Web cast will be presented at ADEQ, 1110 W. Washington Street, Phoenix AZ 85007, Conference Room 5100B (5th Floor) from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM PST. Attendees will receive one & one-half (1 ½) PDH credits for participation.

Registration is required to reserve your seat and receive handout materials for the Web cast. The purpose of the training is to bring utility owners and operators from across the Water and Wastewater Sector together live online to discuss Sector-Specific issues regarding preparing for, responding to, and recovering from a global Pandemic Influenza outbreak.

The Webinar will:

*         Engage sector stakeholders in pandemic planning;

*         Promote the new Water Sector-Specific Pandemic Guideline and CIKR Pandemic Influenza Guide;

*         Explore pandemic issues specific to the Water and Wastewater Sector;

*         And highlight the Sector's existing pandemic preparedness efforts.

Key Questions for Utilities:

*         Does your utility have a pandemic preparedness plan in place?

*         What areas does your utility need further assistance with pandemic planning?

*         Are you confident that your utility is prepared to handle a pandemic influenza outbreak among its employees?

*         Are you confident that your utility is prepared to handle a pandemic influenza outbreak and maintain essential operations?

 

The U.S. Dept of Homeland Security, EPA, Water Sector Coordinating Council, Water Sector Government Coordinating Council and Water/SAC are hosting the Water and Wastewater Sector Pandemic Influenza Webinar.
