Water Quality Specialist / Backflow - Cross Connection - Phoenix
Develops and manages the cross connection control program; perform and
oversee technical inspections, testing, and maintenance of cross
connection controls and backflow assemblies to protect the company's
water supply systems. Schedules and monitors the testing and
maintenance of backflow prevention assemblies by certified testers;
conducts inspections of backflow assemblies and installations. Conducts
construction inspections of backflow prevention assemblies and reviews
plumbing plans and interprets the need for additional backflow
prevention assemblies as required. Develops and maintains files and a
database of backflow prevention assemblies used in the company's water
systems as well as all local businesses and enterprises subject to
Arizona Backflow Prevention Regulations.
Must have Knowledge of Water Quality standards and regulations (State
and Federal Government); and two to four years experience in Water
and/or wastewater systems. Two year AA degree with preference given to a
4 year degree majoring in Biology, Chemistry, Water Related Sciences or
Engineering. Must obtain Cross Connection Tester AND Cross Connection
Specialist Certifications within one year of job appointment.

Water Quality Specialist - Phoenix
Responsible for coordinating the implementaion of objectives related to
Environmental Compliance within the operation and maintenance portion of
operating locale. Oversees drinking water, waste water and air quality
scheduling, testing and sampling to ensure company and government
requirements are met. Recommends treatment procedures for maintaining
approved Water Quality. Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual
monitoring requirements.
Knowledge of water quality standards on a county, state, and federal
level. Must have good verbal and written skills and be proficient at
report writing, have good presentation skills, and a good listener.
Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Biology or Environmental Science
preferred. Two (2) to Four (4) years experience in water and wastewater
treatment required.
