WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR 2


 

 

 

Ideal candidate is an individual who has a good working knowledge of the
principles of the operation of a sewage treatment plant.

 

SALARY: 

 

$16.00 - $22.60 per hour, paid bi-weekly, with appointment normally made
at the entry-level step.  

 

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

 

Any combination of training, education or experience, which demonstrates
the ability to assist in the maintenance and the operation of a sewage
treatment plant and in the repair and maintenance of pumps and other
mechanical equipment.  

 

Operates pumps and sewage treatment equipment, regulates flow of sewage
through the plant, and takes water samples and may make tests for D.O.,
pH, solids, BOD and others.

 

Reads gauges and maintains operation logs according to schedules,
services pumps and motors, and maintains and repairs pumps, motors,
valves, time clocks, meters, and other plant mechanical equipment.

 

Does general building and grounds maintenance at the plant site and is
involved in maintenance and repair of collection systems or lift
stations.

 

            May monitor industrial users discharge and pre-treatment.

 

The desired candidate must possess a Grade 2 Wastewater Treatment Plant
Operator certification from ADEQ and be able to obtain a WWT Grade 3
within 12-months of employment.  Must have an Arizona Driver's License,
satisfactory driving record and an Arizona CDL Class B Drivers License.
Must able be able to obtain a Grade 1 Wastewater Collections
certification from ADEQ within 12-months of employment and a Grade 2
Wastewater Collections certificate within 24 months of employment.

 

The preferred candidate will be given a CDL physical and drug test at
the Districts expense prior to hiring.
