On Monday, May 15, 2006, ADEQ will sponsor the next Web cast in EPA's 2006 Drinking Water Web Cast Series: Asset Management/Asset Inventory for Small Drinking Water Systems. You may be familiar with what asset management is all about, but this Web cast will be showing you the "easy way" to do it. (See description below.)

Asset Management/Asset Inventory for Small Drinking Water Systems

Who: This Web cast is for State drinking water staff, technical assistance providers, and small drinking water systems.
Why: To become more aware of how to keep all the components of a drinking water system properly repaired and replaced including financial preparation so that funds are available when they are needed.
Presented by: EPA and the Office of Ground Water and Drinking Water
Topics to be Covered:
* The Web cast highlights and demonstrates asset inventory management techniques and
* Identifies capital replacement/repair costs.
Summary:
The Asset Management/Asset Inventory Web cast will demonstrate the easiest method for initiating a simple inventory for a small water system. Once completed, this inventory can be used in general budget planning and O&M scheduling. Worksheets will be demonstrated. During the Web cast, water system operators will discuss how asset inventories have assisted them in their everyday duties. EPA will also present some ideas for future tools and products that are being considered for development. If you liked the recent EPA Interactive Sampling Guide tool, this is an opportunity for input.
