Water Infrastructure Finance Authority (WIFA) is now receiving applications for WIFA's 2007 technical assistance grant funding cycle. The grants are a part of WIFA's continuing effort to provide technical assistance to Arizona's water and wastewater facilities. The 2007 technical assistance grant funding cycle runs from July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007 and funds various types of design and pre-design activities related to infrastructure projects.

"WIFA is pleased to announce the beginning of the 2007 technical assistance grant funding cycle," said Steve Owens, chairman of WIFA's board and director of the
Arizona Department of Environmental Quality. "WIFA's competitive grant funding helps communities address their water infrastructure needs and improve water quality throughout Arizona."

Funding for the technical assistance grants comes from WIFA's Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Funds. By submitting an application to WIFA, eligible political subdivisions and private water companies are included on the annual technical assistance project priority list. The technical assistance project priority list is part of WIFA's annual technical assistance intended use plan.

Grants are competitively awarded and the deadline to submit an application is 5p.m., Friday, April 21, 2006. Following a public review and comment period, the WIFA Board of Directors will approve a final technical assistance intended use plan and priority list. The technical assistance intended use plan and project priority list become effective July 1, 2006.

WIFA will host a workshop as part of its application process to provide information on the technical assistance program as well as provide guidance in filling out the application. The workshop is scheduled for:

DATE: Wednesday, Mach 29, 2005

TIME: 1-2 p.m.

LOCATION:	1110 W. Washington Street, Suite 250, Phoenix
