Job Title: OPERATIONS SUPERINTENDENT (revised)

FLSA Status: Exempt
Job Status: Full-time; Benefits
Salary Range: $69,829 - $87,286 annually (Min. to Mid) DOQ
SUMMARY
This is the first level of general management within the City. Incumbents have line item budget responsibility and are charge with the implementation of services and/or programs. Duties include: serving as a liaison; ensuring quality and that rules, regulations, laws, and policies are complied with; supervising staff; and focusing on customer service. Incumbents may manage people and/or program, function or service. The Operations Superintendent will be responsible for managing the operation and involved in the construction of multi wastewater treatment, water treatment, wastewater collection, water distribution, or reclaim water facilities of varying capacity and design.
QUALIFICATIONS
Directly manages staff in the area assigned (water treatment, wastewater treatment, wastewater collections, water distribution, or reclaim water facilities): conducts performance evaluations; plans and directs activities and utilization of resources; administers discipline; maintain a positive and productive work environment, and supervises contract help, vendors, contractors and temporary employees.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in related field, five years technical experience and three years of supervisory or lead experience directly related to area assigned (water treatment, wastewater treatment, wastewater collections, water distribution, or reclaim water facilities);or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position, such as those listed above.
CERTIFICATION
Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid Arizona driver's license. Arizona State Grade IV certification in the area assigned (water treatment, wastewater treatment, wastewater collections, or water distribution).
