Water Operations Supervisor
Sacramento & Ventura, CA
Supervise operations of water distribution/collection systems. Requires BS Engrg or related field or equiv exp and 3-5 years field operations experience in water/wastewater operations and construction experience in water/wastewater operations. State water and/or wastewater operator certification required.
Cross Connection Specialist
Sacramento, CA or Phoenix, AZ
Assumes primary responsibility for development and administration of the American Water Cross Connection Control program for the Western Region. Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, life sciences or related field preferred. Minimum 4 years experience in water system operations. Ability to obtain certification as Cross Connection Control Specialist by USC or AWWA within one year of employment.
Water Conservation Specialist
Work closely with the Water Conservation Coordinator to implement the Sacramento Region's Conservation plan including residential and commercial rebate programs (ULFT and clothes washers), indoor and landscape water use audits, public events, presentations and community workshops, and participation in regional conservation program planning and meetings. High School Diploma or equiv with at least 3 to 4 years of experience in water conservation and/or utilities customer service. One to two years of experience can be waived with a Bachelor's degree in any applicable major. Landscape Irrigation Auditor and/or CII Auditor Certification recommended, and/or be able to obtain an AWWA Water Conservation Practitioner certificate within (1) year of employment or show equivalent experience through specific projects and references.
Operations Supervisor, Swing Shift
Supervise swing shift operations of California American Water's distribution system. AS/BS degree in operational discipline, management, or related discipline or equivalent and 3-5 years exp. in a supervisory role. Must have knowledge of the regulated water business.
Los Angeles, CA
Manage the day-to-day operations of water and/or wastewater distribution and collection systems. BS degree in an operational discipline, management or related technical discipline or equivalent experience and four (4) years experience in supervising operational areas and operating units while managing and meeting performance targets. Water Treatment and Wastewater Collection certification required.
Supervise and manage the personnel, capital resources and business processes that are engaged in the functional area of Production. BS in operational discipline, management, or related technical discipline. Five (5) years of relevant experience. State water and/or wastewater operator's certification. Preference will be given to applicants with Arizona Department of Environmental Quality certifications at the required levels and in the required areas of Water Treatment (Grade 4) and Wastewater Treatment (Grade 4); Grade 4 certifications are also preferable in both Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection.
Customer Service Supervisor
Sun City, AZ
Manages the customer service operations in field locations in accordance with company policies and procedures and all applicable governmental laws and regulations. Associates or Bachelor's degree in operational discipline, management or related field. 3-5 years experience in supervising operational areas and operating units, and managing and meeting performance targets.
Lake Pleasant, AZ
Senior on-site representative whose primary responsibility is the delivery of all operational contractual obligations under the service agreement contract. BS degree in sanitary, chemical, civil, electrical or mechanical engineering or related field. Five years experience in surface water treatment management. Must obtain Grade 4 Water treatment certification within 1 year.
Paradise Valley, AZ
Performs technical work of moderate difficulty in locating and marking underground water and sewer lines using maps, blueprints and metal detectors. Grade 1 Water Distribution and Grade 1 Wastewater Collection certifications preferred. One to Two years prior experience in water and sewer construction.
Sewer Maintenance Operator
Sun City, AZ
Performs work in the operation of various wastewater collection system equipment such as vacuum truck, rodders, hydros, and backhoes. Requires Grade 1 Water Distribution and Grade 1 Wastewater Collection certifications. Grade 2 certifications required within 1 yr of start. Minimum 2 years prior experience in waster and wastewater system maintenance.
System Service Worker
Paradise Valley, AZ
Performs skilled work in the installation, maintenance and repair of the water distribution systems and sewer collection systems. Requires Grade 1 Water Distribution and Grade 1 Wastewater Collection certifications. Valid AZ CDL with tanker and air brake endorsement. Two years related work experience.
Sr. System Service Worker
Paradise Valley, AZ
Performs work in the operation of light, medium, heavy and specialized utility repair equipment including backhoe/front end loader, dump truck, trash pump, air compressor, boring machine, and sewer cleaning equipment. Requires ability to lead work team to complete field construction projects. Requires Grade 2 Water Distribution and Grade 2 Wastewater Collection certifications. Valid AZ CDL with air brake endorsement. Two years related work experience with One year in operation of utility repair equipment.
The Utility Worker is an entry-level labourer who keeps plant facilities and buildings clean, assists others with repair and maintenance projects, errands and odd jobs and handles paperwork.
Grade 1 Water or Wastewater treatment certification a plus. Valid AZ driver's license.
Water Plant Operator
Sun City, AZ
Performs work related to the operation, maintenance and control of water plants, water treatment facilities and well sites.
Requires Grade 2 Water treatment certification and Grade 2 Water distribution. One year experience as an Assistant Plant Operator. Valid Class B CDL AZ drivers license with hazardous material endorsement.
Accountable for providing professional engineering, planning, direction and coordination of capital investment projects, and is responsible for the design, construction, and maintenance of water and wastewater utility plant, for ensuring the integrity of sources of supply, production, treatment and distribution and collection system facilities.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering. PE. Minimum 7-10 years experience in the utility engineering and operation field.
General and Administrative
Rates - Financial Analyst
Support the Company successfully increasing water rates to recover costs of water service through established state regulatory rate case processes in AZ, NM, and TX.
Requires BS in Accounting or related field and 2+ related job experience. Utilities industry or State regulatory experience preferred .
Phoenix, AZ or Sacramento, CA
Prepare Rate Case testimony and other exhibits related to the capital investment plan and deferred maintenance, as well as proof and support for proposed projects, assistance in business plans, track capital expenditures, etc.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Accounting, Economics or related field required. 2 years experience in Engineering or Rates/Regulatory. Valid AZ driver's license.
Capital Expense (Budget) Supervisor
Develop, execute, monitor and analyze capital expense budgets for engineering projects related to water and wastewater facilities design, construction, and maintenance. Requires BS in Accounting/related curriculum and 5+ years' operational accounting and finance experience including experience creating and monitoring capital expense budgets. Strong computer skills including spreadsheets, flow-charting, project scheduling.
