Operations Supervisor Position for Pivotal Operations, LLC
Background: Pivotal Operations, LLC presently manages/operates eight
small to medium-sized water and sewer systems across Arizona. The
company was created by the owners of Pivotal Utility Management, LLC, as
a means to focus our business plan more specifically operation of water
reclamation facilities and to provide services not specifically offered
previously or currently.
Our goal, in creating Pivotal Operations, is to establish an operations
and management company that exhibits professionalism, careful attention
to detail, excellent risk management, and quality service ensuring
regulatory compliance for clients and their end-users (utility
customers).
The position of Operations Supervisor will be responsible for
developing and maintaining the goals set forth for Pivotal Operations
and facilitating future growth of Pivotal Operations.

Requirements:
q 2-year degree or equivalent experience
q Currently holds or is willing to obtain AZ state certification for
Wastewater Operations
q Currently holds or is willing to obtain AZ state certification for
collection systems operations
q Currently holds or is willing to obtain AZ state certification for
Water Operations
q 3 - 5 years work experience; preferred areas in order of priority:
1. Wastewater/ Water operations
2. Management of others
3. Mechanically inclined
Duties:
q Visits to operation sites:
o Meet with operators to discuss facility performance, operation
concerns and issues. Meeting should include activities to motivate them
to improve performance of system and develop their professional
knowledge and skill level.
o Take compliance samples in accordance with schedule set forth in
permit and discuss any required process control setting adjustments.
o Quarterly review onsite records and hold safety meeting with
operator(s) and any other personnel working on the facility site.
o Quarterly evaluate operators performance for financial incentives
o Prepare written report for main office summarizing the quarterly
review.
o Meet with facility owners/ clients at least once a quarter to review
operations, facility needs and compliance performance.
q Supervisor responsibilities
o Responsible for documentation of performance testing in accordance
with compliance schedules (CC&N, APP, NPDES).
o Responsible for reporting all equipment failures and repairs to
designated Pivotal Operations Member/Manager.
o Responsible for reporting all non-compliance issues to Pivotal
Operations Member/Manager.
o Responsible for preparing draft report to be signed by Pivotal
Operations Member/Manager notices when applicable such as;
-exceeding alert levels set for operations conditions,
-exceeding alert levels set for discharge monitoring,
-exceeding alert levels in ground water monitoring,
-discharge limitation violation
-violation of aquifer quality limit
-emergence response and contingency plans for spills and
unauthorized discharge
o Coordinate emergency and contingency planning
o Ensure all jobsites and staff is are compliant with the applicable
OSHA and state safety standards.
o Provide training as required and appropriate to ensure operator has
skills needed to operate and maintain facility in top working condition
and efficiency.
o Coordinate annual review and update of Operation and Maintenance
procedures and manual information.
o Prepare draft of Self Monitoring Report Form (SMRF)
o Quarterly review and approval of Operation Inspection and Log book.
o Coordination and accompaniment of regulatory personnel during
facility inspections.
o Review and posting of required facility signage and safety and
employee notifications
q Business Development
o Work with main office to develop pricing models integrating variables
of local competition, contract requirements, and potential liability.
o Meet with and refer to designated Pivotal Operations Member/Manager
new business opportunities for providing operation and management
services for other water reclamation facilities.
