COMMENT PERIOD BEGINS | Renewal of AZPDES Permit AZ0021229 for Canyon Creek Fish Hatchery in Gila County

ADEQ proposes to issue an AZPDES renewal permit to discharge pollutants to Waters of the United States to the following applicant, subject to certain effluent limitations and special conditions:

Facility Information
The Arizona Game & Fish Department applied for a renewal AZPDES permit for the rate of up to 3.75 million gallons per day (mgd) stream flow through from the Canyon Creek Fish Hatchery (CCFH) to Canyon Creek, Tributary to the Salt River from the headwaters to the White Mountain Apache Reservation in the Salt River Basin in Township 11 N, Range 14 E, Section 36, in Gila County, Arizona. The CCFH is a publicly owned flow-through hatchery with no treatment process. Mixing Zones for nitrogen and phosphorus are proposed. CCFH obtains water from a natural spring and discharges process water from hatchery operations with no domestic wastewater or industrial components.
