PUBLIC NOTICE | Proposed Arizona Vehicle Emissions Inspection and Maintenance Program SIP Revision
ADEQ welcomes comments on the proposed Arizona Vehicle Emissions Inspection and Maintenance (I/M) Program State Implementation Plan (SIP) revision. The revision consists of minor statutory and regulatory changes to the I/M program, including expansion of OBD testing, elimination of waivers for vehicles with failing catalytic converters, elimination of the liquid fuel leak test, exemption from testing for cranes and oversize vehicles, and exemption from testing for vehicles owned by members of the military on active duty.
The revision will be submitted to EPA for incorporation in Arizona’s SIP as required by the Clean Air Act under Section 110.
