PUBLIC NOTICE | Proposed Air Quality Control Renewal Permit to Freeport McMoRan Safford

ADEQ proposes to issue Air Quality Control Renewal Permit No. 90069 to Freeport McMoRan Safford, Inc., for the continued operation installation of a copper mine and crushing facility located in Graham County, Arizona. The facility is subject to the requirements of the Federal Clean Air Act, Code of Federal Regulations, Arizona Revised Statute 49-426, and the Arizona Administrative Code, Title 18, Chapter 2. The facility emits the following air contaminants: nitrogen oxides (NOX), particulate matter (PM), particulate less than 10 microns (PM10), particulate matter less than 2.5 microns (PM2.5), carbon monoxide (CO), sulfur dioxide (SO2), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and hazardous air pollutants (HAPs).

People who file comments on the permit will have the right to appeal the final decision as an appealable agency action to the Office of Administrative Hearing (OAH) pursuant to §41.1092.03, and the appeal must be filed within 30 days after the issuance of the final decision. The OAH may sustain, modify or reverse the final decision.
