Forecast Discussion:

The storm system that brought some rain/snow to Northern Arizona yesterday is now moving eastward into New Mexico. With high pressure still off the West Coast, another storm system currently over the Pacific Northwest will drop southward and into Arizona Thursday before quickly moving east/southeast of the state Friday.

As the system moves east, strong high pressure over the West Coast will move east and center itself over the state late Friday into Saturday. This pattern shift will lead to gusty easterly winds in the 15-25mph range on Friday.

Lastly, an area of low pressure that is currently about 800 miles off the coast of southern California will move eastward into Arizona Sunday. While not expecting any rain out of this system either, it will again result in some breezy winds, with westerly winds of 10-15mph likely on Sunday.

As for air quality, we are expecting PM-10 to be in the Good AQI category through the forecast period.
