Forecast Discussion:

Some clouds and maybe even a sprinkle or light rain are moving through the area this morning. The reason for this activity is a surge of moisture and a bit of energy moving northward, which is sandwiched between the low off the coast of Southern California and high pressure east of Arizona. Slight rain chances will continue through tomorrow.

Today into the weekend, the low off the coast will lift northeast as a trough over the Pacific Northwest drops slightly southeast and brushes Arizona Sunday into Monday. The main impact from this pattern will be a slight drop in afternoon high temperatures, with highs forecast to be in the low 90s through the weekend.

Also of note, as the trough brushes by to the north this weekend, we may see some smoke from wildfires burning in California sweep over the region. Not expecting high concentrations at the surface, but we may for sure see smoke moving overhead.

Tuesday into the middle of next week, high pressure is forecast to build back over the state, resulting in yet another warming trend.

As for air quality, forecasting PM-10 to be in the Good AQI category through the forecast period.

Have a great weekend!
