Forecast Discussion:

Despite thunderstorm activity in the area yesterday (Thursday), ozone was able to reach the Moderate Air Quality Index (AQI) category. Thunderstorm chances will continue for the area today (Friday), begin to diminish tomorrow, and then depart altogether by Sunday.

Overall, a large low pressure wave will slowly move into the western U.S. over the next several days and become the dominant weather pattern. This wave will ultimately result in southwesterly winds in the Flagstaff area. Strongest winds are looking to be on Sunday and Monday.

Ozone is forecast in the Moderate AQI category today and Saturday, then in the Good AQI category by Sunday.

Check back on Tuesday for the next air quality forecast.
