Site Summary:

  • Site was mined intermittently in late 1800s up to 1939
  • ADEQ completed water quality study (Total Maximum Daily Load) for Hassayampa River in 2002
  • ADEQ contractors conducted a site assessment and preliminary investigation in 2019
  • ADEQ conducted water quality sampling and remedial implementation in late summer 2020
  • Permits reviewed and granted, and remediation began Nov. 16, 2020
  • Two corrugated steel culverts were replaced with HDPE culverts
  • Remediation was completed in December 2020
  • ADEQ conducting effectiveness sampling to determine success of remediation
