Town of Winkelman applied for a renewal AZPDES permit for the proposed discharge of up to 0.80 million gallons per day (mgd) of treated domestic wastewater from the Town of Winkelman WWTP to the Gila River in Gila County, Ariz. The Town of Winkelman WWTP is a publicly owned treatment works that receives domestic wastewater from residential, commercial and industrial sources in the Town of Winkelman. Sludge is stabilized in an on-site holding tank and then transported to the landfill for disposal.
