PUBLIC NOTICE | Proposed Revisions to AAC R18-2-220, Air Pollution Emergency Episodes

ADEQ welcomes comments on proposed revisions to Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R18-2-220, Air Pollution Emergency Episodes. ADEQ is proposing to amend A.A.C. R18-2-220 to include the averaging time and emergency episode concentrations for fine particulate matter. The rule revisions will allow Arizona to comply with Clean Air Act Section 110(a)(2)(G) which requires states to provide for authority to address activities causing imminent and substantial endangerment to public health that result from air pollution. The rule amendments will be submitted to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a revision to the Arizona air quality State Implementation Plan.
