Notice: Pursuant to the Clean Water Act and in accordance with Arizona Administrative Code (AAC) R18-9-A907, the Director of ADEQ proposes to issue an Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) Renewal Permit to discharge pollutants to Waters of the United States to the following applicant, subject to certain effluent limitations and special conditions:

Facility Information
Sun Valley South Water Reclamation Facility
The City of Buckeye applied for a renewal AZPDES permit for the proposed discharge of up to 1.125 million gallons per day (mgd) of treated domestic wastewater from the Sun Valley South Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) to an unnamed wash, tributary of the Hassayampa River in the Middle Gila River Basin in Township 2 N, Range 4 W, Section 16, in Maricopa County, Ariz. The facility has not yet been constructed. The Sun Valley South WRF is a publicly owned treatment works that receives domestic wastewater from residential and commercial sources in Buckeye. All the sludge, including screenings, grit and scum, will be hauled to an off-site location — the Butterfield Station Landfill.
