Notice: Pursuant to the Clean Water Act and in accordance with Arizona Administrative Code (AAC) R18-9-A907, the ADEQ Director proposes to issue an Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) Permit to discharge pollutants to waters of the U.S. to the following applicant, subject to certain effluent limitations and special conditions:

The City of Holbrook applied for a renewal AZPDES permit for the proposed discharge of up to 1 million gallons per day of treated domestic wastewater from the Painted Mesa Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) to the Leroux Wash, tributary to the Little Colorado River in the Little Colorado River Basin in Township 17 N, Range 20 E, Section 2, in Navajo County, Ariz. The Painted Mesa WRF is a publicly owned treatment works that receives domestic wastewater from residential and commercial sources in Holbrook. Sludge is transported from the aerobic digester and then used for agricultural application.
