PUBLIC NOTICE | Proposed AZPDES Renewal Permit for Black Canyon Ranch RV Resort

Notice: Pursuant to the Clean Water Act and in accordance with Arizona Administrative Code (AAC) R18-9-A907, the Director of ADEQ) proposes to issue an Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) Permit to discharge pollutants to Waters of the United States to the following applicant, subject to certain effluent limitations and special conditions:

Information

Black Canyon Ranch RV Resort LLC/Colonial Heights MHP LLC applied for a renewal AZPDES permit for the proposed discharge of up to 0.0125 million gallons per day (mgd) of treated domestic wastewater from the Black Canyon Ranch RV Resort Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) to an unnamed wash, tributary to Black Canyon Creek, tributary to the Agua Fria River in the Middle Gila River Basin in Township 9 N, Range 1 E, Section 33, in Yavapai County, Ariz. The Black Canyon Ranch RV Resort (WWTP is a privately owned treatment works that receives domestic wastewater from residential and commercial sources in the Black Canyon RV Resort Community in Black Canyon City. Sludge is pumped from a sludge holding tank by a licensed contractor and hauled to a licensed solid waste management facility for further processing.

Public Comment Period

All written comments received by ADEQ by the close of business 30 days after publication of this notice will be considered in the final permit decision. A public hearing request must be in writing and must include the reasons for such request. If there is a significant degree of public interest, the Director will hold a hearing in accordance with AAC R18-9-A908(B).
