Bill Ellett was selected acting director of the Southern Regional Office (SRO) in Tucson in April 2010. Bill had served as Superfund programs unit manager for SRO since 2006. Prior to that, Bill had been a project manager and hydrogeologist for cleanups of soil and groundwater hazardous waste sites in southern Arizona.

Before joining ADEQ in 1998, Bill worked in oil exploration for 12 years and environmental consulting for three years.

Bill earned a Bachelor of Science degree in geophysics from the University of California at Riverside in 1980, and a Masters of Science degree in hydrology from the University of Arizona in 1994. Bill is an avid bicycle rider, commuting to work almost daily, and he also enjoys woodworking and canoeing.
