ADEQ is holding an open town hall meeting to discuss an upcoming air quality planning project in the Rillito PM10 nonattainment area, which includes portions of the Town of Marana, Rillito, Picture Rocks, and Ironwood Forest National Monument. This area has been designated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as not meeting the National Ambient Air Quality Standards for particulate matter with diameter under 10 micrometers (PM10, or dust). ADEQ will be developing a plan to help reduce dust pollution in the area. A brief presentation will be given on:
- Federal air quality standards
- Current PM10 exceedances occurring in the area
- ADEQ’s upcoming work
The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session.
